As an agate variety, tree agate has a Mohs hardness of 6.5–7 and is correspondingly robust. It can be cleaned under running water and charged in the sun or on rock crystal. Avoid prolonged UV exposure. Since tree agate is usually worn as a tumbled stone or palm stone, it is easy to care for in everyday use.

Verwechslungsgefahren & Qualität

Tree agate is sometimes confused with moss agate, which shows similar green inclusions. The difference lies in the pattern structure: tree agate shows more branched, tree-like dendrites, while moss agate has round, moss-like inclusions. Dendritic quartz can also look similar but is usually more transparent. Quality features are clearly defined, contrasting patterns.
