The time between the years was considered a special time in old folk belief. The days from Christmas to Epiphany were considered "out of time," a time when the veils separating this world and the next open, our ancestors seek contact with us, spirits swarm, and Wotan and his entourage wreak havoc. But it was also a time particularly suited to mystical experiences. In ancient times, these days were consciously celebrated - people engaged in much introspection, oracles for the coming year, remembered their ancestors, and banished spirits. In more recent times, many people want to experience this time more consciously again. To support this, we have developed a Rauhnacht ritual set. It contains many of the utensils needed for this time and a detailed primer with many rituals for the 12 Rauhnachte.
