Zoisite is said to have a creative and productive effect. It is said to help transform destructive attitudes into a constructive way of life and to implement one's own ideas, desires, and life plans. It is also said to support one's freedom from external influences and the rediscovery and expression of hidden feelings. If interruptions cause one to lose focus during an undertaking or implementation, it is said to help one return to the starting point and continue.

Alleged effect

In healing stone science, zoisite is said to have a supportive effect on diseases of the testicles and ovaries. With ruby inclusions, it is also said to have a potency-enhancing effect. It is said to detoxify tissue, promote cell regeneration, and have anti-inflammatory properties. Therefore, this stone is well-suited to supporting recovery after long illnesses or strenuous stress.

Mineralogie & Entstehung

Anyolite is a metamorphic rock made of green zoisite (Ca₂Al₃(SiO₄)(Si₂O₇)O(OH)), red ruby (Al₂O₃ with Cr), and black tschermakitic hornblende. It forms through regional metamorphism in amphibolite facies. The ruby-red crystals are embedded in the green zoisite matrix. The only significant location is the Longido District, Tanzania. Similar occurrences can also be found in India and Norway.
Pflege & Reinigung

Care is based on the softest mineral contained – zoisite with a hardness of 6–6.5. Clean under lukewarm water. Recharge on rock crystal or in the sun. The contained ruby (hardness 9) makes the stone overall robust, but the zoisite matrix can be more sensitive.
Verwechslungsgefahren & Qualität

Zoisite with ruby is hardly confused due to its unique green-red-black combination. Occasionally, it is mistaken for fuchsite with ruby, which shows a mica-like luster (fuchsite is a chrome mica). Correctly named in trade as anyolite or ruby-zoisite.
